Delicious lightly smoked elk meat with potato pancake
Hello! Happy 2009 everybody! I hope you’re having a good time wherever you are. For a spectacular start to mine, I’m writing this in cold, cold Sweden. How’s that for a change?
I’ve been stuffing myself with all things weird and wonderful. Okay, okay, maybe not that weird. So far, I’ve had Swedish Smörgåsbord which means a full buffet of Scandinavian cuisine, Christmas market food like fried herring (strömming), Glögg (mulled wine) and of course, peppakakor – Swedish gingerbread.
I’m going to write less and put up more photos of Skansen’s Christmas market. I had a fabulous (and freezing) time and we were quite fortunate to catch the once-a-year midwinter solstice celebration. It was a fire and ice concert and although we didn’t understand a single word in the performance, we did enjoy the drama. I hope these pictures will say more than a thousand words…
till next time!

the kid looked like he just got caught for doing something…
He was caught climbing too high for his short legs to handle. It was a lucky shot because he became very camera shy after that.
happy new year!!

I wonder if I could do a similar pancake ^_^
