Melbourne Laneways
By Mable Tan • May 30th, 2009 • Category: TravelsMelbourne laneways are one of the most interesting, bizarre, exciting places to discover. You have to really hunt for these jewels – but like all things that are worth the trouble, they seldom disappoint. There are tours around the CBD for tourists and non-tourist alike (because we don’t always know what’s in our own backyard). And since the city wall is just one big canvas, the art is always changing.
I’ve definitely grown quite attached to these laneways and whenever a friend comes in to visit, I bring them on a personal tour around (while stopping for a coffee or two at one of Melbourne’s many fabulous cafes).
In Melbourne? Here are lanes to take note of:
- Hosier Lane
- McKillop Street
- Bennetts Lane
- ACDC Lane, Melbourne (AC/DC Lane)
